Start with the assistant you actually use
MCP support depends on the client, its plan and the connection method it supports. A product having an AI chat does not automatically mean it can use every remote MCP server.
Before connecting business software, confirm that your assistant accepts a remote MCP URL and the required authorisation flow. Product menus and plan requirements can change, so use the client’s current instructions during setup.
What has been checked with Claude
The recorded 24 October 2026 checks covered actual Claude Desktop and web connection flows, model-selected platform utility calls, refresh on use after a token expired naturally and rejection after the access grant was revoked.
Desktop and web used Claude’s shared connector broker. Those checks did not call provider business operations. They establish evidence for the connection flow, not live inventory, order or construction workflows.
Codex and Claude Code
Native Codex and Claude Code authentication and discovery were checked. Saved credentials, refresh after a server authorisation response and revoked-grant rejection were included in the recorded client tests.
Tool discovery means the assistant can see a tool. It does not establish that a complete business workflow has passed acceptance against an authorised provider account.
What about ChatGPT?
ChatGPT is part of the audience we’re building for. Acceptance of MCP XYZ with ChatGPT has not yet been verified in the recorded release evidence.
If ChatGPT is your required client, tell us before planning a rollout. We need to check the specific connection method, account requirements and intended workflow rather than assume compatibility.
A practical connection checklist
Have your MCP XYZ account and the authorised software account ready. Create or choose the workspace, configure the connection and complete its connection check. Copy the MCP URL shown for that connection.
Add that URL through the supported client’s connection settings. Sign in to MCP XYZ and grant the required access. Begin with read-only permissions and a small request you can verify in the source software.
Connector status and permissions matter. Our examples describe intended workflows, not a claim that live provider business acceptance is complete.
